Great and ever conscious Old Boys of St Thomas Secondary School; the most successful old students. I am highly delighted having been nominated by you to the office of Caretaker Chairman of one of the most vibrant Old Boys Association of Nigeria. Permit me to say further that this is a rear opportunity. Accept my appreciation. The Essene of association of this nature cannot be over-emphasized. successive Principals of our great al mamata have worked commitedly to bring into life this kind of gathering as one family. unfortunately all efforts put in them could not see the light of the day.
Today, I stand before you in confidence with deep and sincere thanks to Almighty God for making this dream a reality. St Thomas Old Boys Association has receieved a considerable range of popularity both locally and internationally through radio broadcasts, print media and the Internet. The Association owns a personal website different from the one of the school itself containing the list of all registered members. Membership to this great association is by virture of being a student in the School from the inception till date. by this piece, old and new students are expected to seize this unque opportunity to participate actively in the activities of the association.
Let me add that we have grown to capacity and so the need for democratically elected leaders to lead this noble association to greater heights. May I use this forum therefore to inform all Old Boys to bend down in search of promising persons, who are willing and ready to take over the mantle of leadership for the growth and developement of the unique union that has been in existence among the students of St Thomas Secondary School bearing in mind that leadership does not go without sacrifice. The very essense of this Association is to breed encouragment, support and protection to all members in line with our collective interest and that of our great al mamata; through which our sojourn in life started.
I therefore wish to use this medium to thank specially some sets particularly the 1994, 1995, 1996, who have voluntarily sponsored some projects in the school to help maintain and upgrade the standard of the school for the use of our younger ones and children. May God reward them abundantly. We call on individuals, sets and groups from among us to emulate this gesture.
Finally, I congratulate all the members of the Association for answering the clarion call, I thank the school authority, the proprietor for thier support in nation biulding.
God bless you all.
Long live St Thomas' Secondary School!!
Long Live Stoba.
